How do we build towards a Paris Proof future? Mama Pioneers was invited to join the conversation on ‘Paris Proof?’ at Pakhuis de Zwijger, hosted by De Architect.

Co-founder Marc Koehler presented Poppies as a leading example of scalable timber housing. Alongside fellow architects including Oscar Vos (KRFT Architecture Studio), Jasper Smits (Boshuis Blankwater), Robert Winkel (Mei Architects and Planners), Martijn van Gameren (Paul de Ruiter Architects) and Christina Kaiser (Braaksma & Roos), the evening focused on how the sector can move from ambition to implementation.

Marc: “What motivates me is the desire to realise scaling and acceleration by developing an industrial housing system, allowing us to have far greater impact than reinventing the wheel on a tiny scale each time.”

MaMa Pioneers uses a systemic approach: an industrialised timber housing model that enables repetition, efficiency and measurable CO₂ reduction. Poppies was only the beginning, with project Robin Wood well underway and more projects in the pipeline, MaMa Pioneers is seeking out partners to collaborate and scale further with to accelerate impact.
