Residents and founders come together to celebrate Amsterdam Noord’s first modular timber coliving building.

Poppies officially opened its doors in Amsterdam Noord, bringing 103 modular, circular rental homes to life and welcoming the first residents of the MaMa Pioneers community.
The opening event provided a chance for residents and founders to connect and experience the building together. The founders of MaMa Pioneers welcomed everyone in one of the shared spaces, presenting the vision behind the project and the principles of regenerative, community-driven living.

Attendees explored the interconnected gallery of stairs, a distinctive architectural feature designed to encourage interaction between neighbours, before heading to the rooftop terrace.
There, a resident and MaMa Pioneers ambassador for fitness and wellbeing led a short exercise session, showing how shared spaces can support everyday activities and connection. The evening concluded with rooftop drinks and conversations, marking the first moments of social connection in the Poppies community.

The event highlighted how thoughtful design, shared spaces, and community rituals come together at Poppies to create a human-centred, connected living environment.
Come home. Come to MaMa.
